Home Educator Day: Helping Hedgehogs
October 6 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Learn how to help one of Britain’s favourite wild animals!
How far do hedgehogs travel each night in search of food? In this practical session, we will explore the world of the hedgehog — from their habits and hibernation to the threats they face in modern environments.
After an informative talk, participants will have the opportunity to build a hedgehog house to provide safe shelter in their own gardens. These can be taken home for an additional cost, helping young people make a real difference for local wildlife. Or why not leave them with us to help provide a habitat for the hundreds of hedgehogs we release each year.
This session combines creativity, conservation, and fun — perfect for budding wildlife champions!
Refreshments for attendees are included in the ticket price. Adults are welcome to stay, or children may be dropped off and collected at the end of the session.
Please note: Secret World is a working wildlife hospital, and for welfare reasons there is no contact with the animals in our care.
